Lecture mode is the perfect setting for presentations, announcements, investor relations calls, question and answer sessions, as well as for any other conferences featuring a large number of participants. During this mode, the conference moderator is the only one who can be heard and all participant lines are placed in listen-only mode (muted), in order to create the highest quality listening environment for all attendees.
During Q & A sessions, participants can “raise their hand” to ask questions by pressing *1 on their telephone keypad, where they are then placed in a question queue. The moderator or the Event Coordinator, working from the desktop control panel, can subsequently unmute each participant in succession so they can ask their question. After they do so, their line is muted so that the moderator can respond. This process is repeated until all questions are handled. This ensures high quality audio which is especially critical for large events.
Enhance Your Event with Visuals
Wholesale Conference Calls is pleased to provide Meeting Central™ or Microsoft® Live Meeting, a web conferencing platform, designed to provide your participants with the look and feel of “being there.” Share a PowerPoint presentation, demonstrate a software application, or even show screens through your browser, all from your desktop to theirs. You can even stream in a web camera so participants can see the individual giving the presentation.
The conference host uploads the presentation or application to the web conference platform. The participants can join and view the web conference by clicking a link that is sent to them via email. Only the host or someone else that the host authorizes to control the web platform will be able to forward the presentation (change the slides) or to share the application being viewed. During the presentation, all participations are placed in “view only” mode, which provides added security to your conference.

Dynamic Call Monitoring, a web-based conference management tool, offers a number of features that allow the moderator to monitor all aspects of the call should he or she elect to not have an Event Coordinator in attendance. This desktop control environment shows the moderator how many people are on the call, the numbers from which they are calling in, and even who is talking at any given time through a visual display that indicates sound from a particular line.
In addition to these wonderful features, the moderator can put the call in and out of lecture mode, start and stop recording, lock the call to prevent others from joining, mute and unmute individual lines, and handle the automated Q & A queue to respond to participants in an organized manner.
